Subway at Hopkinton High School

By Troy Campbell

A new twist in the meals at Hopkinton High school happened this past month, when Subway was introduced to the school lunch. Mondays only, students now have the opportunity to buy a pre-made sandwich from Subway, and are able to add all the wanted vegetables and extras to their sub.

Students are beginning to like this new change. “I wish they had Subway everyday,” Jake Nelson, a sophomore at Hopkinton High school, stated.
A Subway meal only cost $3.50, including the sandwich, drink, fruit, and a dessert. Most students find this price pretty reasonable.

Not only do they have Subway for the kids, but they have also started delivering subs daily to faculty. That’s right, faculty can order any sub they would like, delivered to them at lunch time. Faculty is finding this new system of not having to worry about making lunch in the morning very convenient. The faculty Subway started off pretty slow, with teachers not knowing what to think, but now the popularity of this system is beginning to rise.

Others, such as the lunch ladies, have a different opinion. It seems that they’re losing business from this ordeal. Yet it may be making their job easier, having the kids make their own subs. I’m sure their view on the faculty Subway is very different.
